The Cloud Database Administrator for Microsoft Azure Program

This program provides an in-depth understanding of networking, storage, compute, application support and development in cloud environments with a specific focus on Microsoft Azure. In this course, Learners will discover the ins and outs of cloud concepts, Azure services, Azure workloads, security and privacy in Azure, as well as Azure pricing and support. Core solutions and management tools on Azure, general security and network security features, identity, governance, privacy, and compliance features, and Azure cost management and Service Level Agreements are further explored.

Next, the Learners will explore common tasks and concepts that an administrator needs to understand to deploy and manage infrastructure in Microsoft Azure. The Administrator functions for cloud database structures include managing Azure AD objects (users, groups, and devices), Azure AD join and self-service password reset. It also covers role-based access control, tagging, subscription level policies,and resource organization using resource groups, subscription, and management groups.

Finally, Learners will gain an understanding of the skills and knowledge required for implementing and monitoring an Azure infrastructure, managing security solutions, implementing solutions for apps,implementing and managing data platforms. Learners will understand Azure capability in networking,virtualization, identity, security, business continuity, disaster recovery, data platform, budgeting, and governance.

Education and National Certifications

  • Students should have or be pursuing a high school diploma or GED.
  • There is a National Certification exam available to students who successfully complete thisprogram:
    • Microsoft Azure Certified
    • Microsoft Azure Administrator
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert

National Certification

Students who complete the Texas A&M University - Texarkana Cloud Database Administrator program will be prepared to sit for the Exam AZ-900: Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, Exam AZ-104: Microsoft Azure Administrator national certification exam(s). In order to work as a Cloud Database Administrator, many states nationwide are requiring that learners achieve national certification prior to working in that state. Students who complete this program are encouraged to complete the practical/clinical externship option with their program. This comprehensive program is designed to prepare students to sit for Exam AZ-900: Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, Exam AZ-104: Microsoft Azure Administrator exam(s). Students who complete this program can and do sit for the Exam AZ-900: Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, ExamAZ-104: Microsoft Azure Administrator national certification exam(s) and are qualified, eligible and prepared to do so.

These courses are offered by Texas A&M University Texarkana, in partnership with Job Training Courses (JTC). Texas A&M University-Texarkana is a regionally accredited institution and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).

+ Are there available financial aids (FAFSA, Pell Grant, etc)?
We currently do not have support for federal or state grants. However, we offer zero interest payment plans for up to 12 months. Students can take advantage of these payment plans without worrying about credit check.
